Valentine's Day Gifts

Facts
Last-minute shopping is the norm for this holiday with nearly 50 percent of all Valentine’s Day cards and gifts purchased in the six days prior to Feb. 14.
In addition to the U.S., Valentine’s Day is celebrated in Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, France, Australia, Denmark, and Italy.

2008 Product News

  • Buddy (the Dog), Bernice (the Dragon) and El Toro of Love (the Bull) are three stuffed animals that feature an irresistible combination of soft fabrics, movement and sound. Each animal has its own personality. Buddy, for example, shows his enthusiasm through eager “woofs” and “growls.” Press Buddy’s paw to see him wiggle his ears as music plays. They are available exclusively at Hallmark Gold Crown® stores. Consumers who purchase three Hallmark cards may buy one or more of the animals for $9.95 each ($20 value).

  • Hallmark Gold Crown stores also offer a variety of other stuffed animals for Valentine’s Day – including licensed designs featuring Pepé Le Pew, Taz and Snoopy – as well as a menagerie of loveable bears, frogs, monkeys and crocodiles.

  • An exclusive Valentine’s Day CD, Love Revival, features 10 songs by Reba McEntire. Four of the songs were recorded exclusively for Hallmark Gold Crown – “I'll Still Be Loving You,” “Big Blue Sky,” “With You I Am” and “Bad For My Own Good.” It’s available for $7.95 with each purchase of three Hallmark cards.

  • Gillham & Grand™ premium chocolates come in a variety of heart-shaped boxed assortments, as well as individual candy bars with wrappers that say, “I love you” or “Sent with love,” and individual chocolate hearts with flavored centers. New this year, Gillham & Grand offers a white stuffed bear with its own box of truffles.

  • Many Hallmark Valentine’s Day gifts feature sound including travel mugs that play songs such as “Hot Stuff” by Donna Summer, and photo frames that play songs such as “How Sweet It Is (to Be Loved by You),” by Marvin Gaye. For a humorous gift, the Hottie Lines Button plays five cheesy pick-up lines when pressed, for example: “Is it hot in here, or is it just you?”

  • Valentine-themed gifts such as photo frames, books, candles, boxer shorts and mugs also are available at Hallmark Gold Crown stores.
