Where are you originally from?
I grew up right here in the city of fountains and smoked meat and greeting cards (i.e. Kansas City, Mo.)

What do you do at Hallmark?
Try and guess what jokes will make good cards.

What inspires you?
Imperfection. Things that are just slightly off.

The three words that best describe you:
Resistant to labels.

How does your own personality influence the cards you create?
You can't make every card for your own personal amusement, but sometimes you put a card out into the world and it sells big, and you say to yourself, "Yeah. Thanks, America. We ‘get’ each other after all."

How do you envision the recipient when you write?
In their skivvies eating Cheetos.

My creativity is due to:
The recent addition of a coffee shop at headquarters. You can actually pay by just swiping your Hallmark ID and it comes out of your next paycheck. The smartest way I've ever heard of increasing corporate productivity.

Why do you do what you do?
Because somebody created this crazy job where you get to work side by side with cartoonists and joke writers.
