Yes, some Hallmark greeting cards, including Shoebox, Saturdays and other humor lines, and part of the Hallmark PRODUCT (RED)™ initiative, are produced on paper with recycled fiber. In 2008 Hallmark introduced a new collection of cards produced on stock containing 50 percent sugar cane pulp and 50 percent recycled paper, and we anticipate greater use of paper with recycled or alternative fiber in the coming months.
Hallmark also is committed to using paper from sustainable forests – most of our greeting card products are printed on paper from sustainably managed forests. Visit the Earth-Friendly Products from Hallmark page to read more about ongoing efforts.
Hallmark produces a variety of products that contain one or more small button cell batteries. These products include cards, gift bags, boxes and plush items with lights or sound. The batteries do not contain mercury.
In California, all batteries are banned from landfill disposal. Take the product or circuit module containing batteries to a household hazardous waste facility, authorized battery recycler, or battery collection center for proper disposal.
In other states, please contact your local or state environmental agency to determine where the product or circuit module containing batteries may be recycled. Internet searches also can help you locate facilities for recycling or disposal of batteries.
